Artist Statement

My artistic practice explores the interconnectedness of life and death in nature, filtered through the lens of quiet observation and emotional nuance. My work ranges from large-scale sculptural ceramics to small floral prints. My focus is a multidisciplinary practice grounded in ceramics, textiles, and printmaking.

Drawing inspiration from traditions of quilting and lace-making, I infuse my ceramic works with a textile sensibility: an attention to detail, softness, repetition, and care. These influences allow me to explore femininity not just as subject matter, but as process — slow, deliberate, and emotionally charged. My practice honors the quiet labor of making, the rhythm of hands at work, and the space this creates for reflection.

Themes of mortality, decay, and regeneration are central to my work, but are joined by an appreciation for the mundane: the everyday moments that make up a life, easily overlooked but emotionally potent. Through visual poetry and intricate mark-making, I document feelings and fleeting thoughts, creating a space where the intimate becomes monumental.

Ultimately, I aim to offer work that invites viewers to slow down and feel — not just the heaviness of death or the serenity of nature, but also the small, ambiguous moments of living. My practice is a space for vulnerability, where the emotional weight of existence is held with softness and care.
